Blast to the past

We hope you all enjoyed a beautiful labor day weekend. Things are busy around here. We are in the midst of trying to launch a brand-new website, putting the final touches on the store in preparation for a fall open house, and plugging away at many design projects. You’ll have to keep checking back for updates!

Today, we’d like to start your week off with a little bit of design inspiration. Hold on ’cause we’re about to blast into the past. Rewind the clock to last May.

Before:

You are looking at the Guest Retreat, a room designed by us for the Society of the Arts’ 2010 Designer Showhouse.

Hand-drawn “vision” rendering:

After:

An updated color palette of papaya and gray paired with gold and silver accents create a sophisticated opposition between contemporary and traditional.

A four-poster bed with floral scrollwork roots the design to classic antiquity.

Trimmed, silk panels with a turban valance add tactile depth to the bedroom.

Layers of luxurious bedding maintain a welcoming softness.

Simple panels with matching valance in the sitting room allow the sinuate, striped fabric to shine.

Thanks for looking :)
